It's A Dummy!

The Archie Potts book initially started out as an idea I had while doing my illustration degree in the mid nineties. Back then the time travelling archaeologist was a mature gentleman called Professor Potts and used a pogo stick to get about. To submit a picture book idea to publishers you had to create what was called a 'dummy' which showed the style of artwork and the story flow, I created it using a colour photocopier and masking tape. I still have the original dummy I created as a student, in this Professor Potts found a cheese sandwich and met the pirate who lost it! Check out the artwork, it's almost 30 years old.
